Still a GREAT concept though and would reccomend if you don't mind the bugs!. I have mixed opinions about this one. While I'm a big enthusiast of games with a pirate theme, this one somehow disappointed me throughout the way. Well, don't get me wrong, the game is enjoyable and everything, to a certain extent, of course... That said, where should I begin? Ok, I won't say anything about the graphics, especially because I've played Pixel Piracy before, and at least for me, that's definitely not something that can spoil a good game. The music gets old quickly, and the sound effects are ok. As for the gameplay itself, I thought somehow weird to play with a mouse + keyboard combo (didn't really try a gamepad though). Ah well, anyway, you get used to it. As for the story... Yeah, in my opinion, that's where the game drops the ball. There's not really something to keep you motivated to play, as it's basically just a whole lot of grinding and repetitive quests. After you unlock all the achievements, eventually you get to ask yourself: "What about now?", and that's when you uninstall the game.So, overall, if you're looking for a game with a fair price, in order to kill some time, unlock all the possible achievements without much hindrance etc... I'd recommend it to you. Otherwise... Well, don't expect much from it. I'd say that it's like a one night stand: Enjoy it while it lasts. My review can be summed up by most of the other mostly positive reviews. It has nice, generally relaxed gameplay and the crew names were hilarious. What I would love to see in this game would be a lot of variation. Examples being customising your ship, more types of food\/drink or other resources to balance out with medicine. Along with that islands could have more jobs to do aside from just delivery quests, such as randomised bounty quests or escort missions. Sailing also feels too predictable as you either run into a ship or an island or nothing. I would love to see events like a sea monster attack or a storm at sea, really making the game feel a lot more adventurous. On top of these factors I'd also like the ability to run as most of the island quests happen in the middle of the island and I'd just like to run to them. The game is fun, but I feel like adding these things could make it truly immersive.. Got this game in a bundle and its not something I would have picked up otherwise, so my review may be a bit harsh. The game in my opinion felt like it was incomplete, repetitive, browser based, and lacked tons of depth. You cant even change your controls in this game. "fair warning to everyone" It is also no longer being updated or worked on. After 6 hours of play time, I am already done with the entire game.. Absolute blast of a game. I love how open it is and the sandbox gameplay. Not having a clear goal but having so many things to do is amazing. My only complaint is the combat. You can just board the ship then mash buttons to win the fight almost every time with little damage done to yourself and no loss (or need) of ammo. Otherwise everything else is wonderful. Beautiful, quirky, great experince. Solid 8/10.. So addicting. First day I bought the game got all achievments. :)Edit: They added more achievments so gotta get those, frick.. I love these types of games but Don't Sink is a step above the rest. Don't Sink is the type of game where you can physically see your hours that you have put into the game. Whether is from ship upgrades, food, islands you capture or the monstrous amount of gold you can collect. The game can get slightly repetitive but that can be changed by going on one of the many missions that are avalible around the different islands, where you will be rewarded with gold. This game is an absolute blast to play if you have time to kill, grinding for the leaderboards or just want to chill on a game. I cannot recommend this game enough.
